A 2017 Pulitzer Prize winner will join reporters and editors from inside and outside the Beltway and representatives of international press freedom organizations on Wednesday, May 3 as the National Press Club and its Journalism Institute mark World Press Freedom Day. The morning-long discussion on the State of Press Freedom in the USA will feature panels that look at:
- Protecting The First Amendment: How press freedoms in the United States compare with other countries;
- · Journalism beyond the Beltway: The state of local news gathering and,
- · Staying Alive: New (and old) financial models for making evidence-based, unbiased journalism economically sustainable.
