The full set of filters is only available for cases where a ‘Journalist’ killing has been classified as “Confirmed as work-related.” For ‘Journalist’ killings classified as “Suspected as work-related,” the only filters available are “Years” and “Location.”

For ‘Media Worker’ killings (which CPJ only includes in this database if they are “Confirmed as work-related”), the available filters are “Years”, “Location”, “Type of Death”, and “Suspected Source of Fire.” (In June 2026, CPJ retroactively classified the “Type of Death” and “Suspected Source of Fire” for Media Worker Killings.)
